About
Jennifer A. King is a Member at Kershaw Anderson King, PLLC. Previously, she was a Partner at Burford & Ryburn, LLP where she began working after graduating from Baylor University School of Law in 2001. She received her BA in Government from The University of Texas at Austin.
Jennifer King represents and counsels clients on business and professional disputes in the areas of Medical Malpractice, Health Law, and Professional Liability Defense. She works with clients to avoid litigation, to seek ways to minimize litigation, and to resolve the dispute in a cost-effective and timely manner when litigation is unavoidable. She is an effective and tireless advocate for her clients, and she and her team provide a high-quality work product, client accessibility with prompt responsiveness, and skilled trial court presentation.
Ms. King works with health care clients on peer review, contract drafting and negotiations, EMTALA, and contract disputes. She has assisted General Counsel with Board and Committee meetings, and with investigations of sentinel events and unanticipated occurrences and outcomes. She has successfully defended hospital systems and physicians against a variety of claims, including medical/surgical department cases, obstetric cases, surgery cases, emergency department cases, pediatric cases, transplant cases, and ICU cases. She represents physician groups and hospitals in the areas of policies and procedures, indemnity issues, and medical malpractice. She is a frequent speaker to hospital personnel and physician groups regarding avoiding litigation and best practices.
Jennifer was Named to D Magazine’s 2012, 2013, and 2016-2023 Best Lawyers in Dallas List, and named a Texas Super Lawyer in Medical Malpractice Defense from 2018-2024. She serves as the Vice Chair of the Dallas Bar Association Board of Directors, Finance Chair of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Bar Association and Community Service Fund, was President of the Dallas Women Lawyers Association in 2021, is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and a Jaworski Fellow at Baylor University School of Law.
